Living Jars of Clay
(Donna Rhodenizer)

We come, oh Heav’nly Father, before Your throne of grace.
We pray your holy blessing on those who gather in this place;
We look to you the potter, to fashion out of clay,
A vessel that is worthy to bring praise and honour to your name.

Holy Father, may we learn to pray,
Offering our bodies though they are but humble clay.
Most holy Father,
May we choose to be filled with your spirit, beautiful to Thee.
We come, oh Heav’nly Father, to worship and adore,
Exalted name above all names,
Your praise we sing both now and evermore.

As we remember how we ought to pray:
May Thy will on earth be done, as it is in heav’n.
Holy Father, may we answer, “Holy Father we will serve You.”
Offering our bodies, offering our bodies, offering our bodies,
Make a worthy vessel of this clay.

We come, oh Heav’nly Father, before Your throne of grace.
We pray Your holy blessing on all who gather in this place;
And with Your spirit’s guidance we go to share the way,
And spread Your love to all the ones You sent Your only son to save.
With grateful hearts we sing Thy praise,
Your church, your servants,
Living jars of clay.
